WELCOME TO THE FOULKE LAIR — I’ve been expecting you for quite some time and invite you to explore at your own curiosity. Nothing can harm you. Your imagination and suspension of disbelief are the only limits to what is possible.

As demonstrated both in my blog The Literary Autopsy Room and my writings, I have been hard at work dissecting and experimenting with reanimating the literary and horror genres to create literary horror fiction that not only pushes the wonderment of what is possible but deeply engages with the morality of its darkness. My current experiment is a draft of what I hope will become my first novel, Second Chance. I invite you to follow my progress in its creation by dissecting and studying the most intimate workings of literature with me. And if you dare, drop me a line in the Contact section.

I hope you enjoy your stay. May you find the answers you seek and the worldly questions you didn’t realize you wanted to ask.

THE NAME FOR THIS BLOG comes from my constant thirst for reading and propensity for analyzing what I read. Since I was a kid, I’ve held the belief that literature of all types— not only the books we love and hold in high regard but the books which infuriate us, drive us to the brink of madness, and even make us want to stop reading— have something in them worth learning. If it’s in writing, we can learn something from it, both as people and as writers. Plain and simple. My aim is to learn as much as I can on my reading adventures so that I may produce a higher quality of fiction tomorrow than today. To take what we lock away— the very things which make us uncomfortable to think about such as our fears, worries, traumas, secrets—in metaphorical dark, dark rooms which only we hold the key to and interweave them with quality craft to take the reader out of their comfort zone to consider the world in a new way. Join me as I bring you into the autopsy room and deconstruct the books I find fascinating, dark, and delightful through eyes of a writer.

Enter if you dare.
